Fluororubber's heat resistance is superior to all other synthetic rubbers. It can work continuously below 200 degrees Celsius and can withstand high temperatures above 300 degrees Celsius for short periods. Fluororubber is resistant to various liquids, such as oils, fuels, concentrated acids, solvents, and high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide, and its corrosion resistance is superior to various other rubbers.
Fluororubber has good abrasion resistance, but its thermal conductivity is low. Fluororubber has good light resistance, ozone resistance, and weather resistance. It has high vacuum resistance and a certain degree of flame resistance.
Fluororubber has excellent chemical properties and is mainly used as a material resistant to various media and high temperatures, such as seals, rubber tubes, rubber sheets, and fuel tanks. Due to its irreplaceability, it is widely used in the automotive, petroleum, chemical, and machinery industries. 60%--70% of fluororubber is used in the automotive industry.
