FB-7 protective sealing strip
Sealant tapes can be embedded in the gaps between two components of a building or vehicle. It is bonded to the surface where the two components meet, preventing the ingress of rainwater, air, or dirt. This sealant tape must be able to accommodate appropriate relative movement according to the thermal expansion and contraction of the materials of the two components being sealed, while maintaining its overall sealing function.
The FB-7 series is made of butyl rubber. This sealant tape has excellent aging resistance and fully meets the above requirements, with consistent performance over time.
The vast majority of building sealant tapes are used to seal gaps between two components that are mechanically fastened. The sealant tape shown in the illustration provides the required bonding strength to properly secure two glass plates and the sealing between the glass and the window frame gap.
The FB-7 strip combines a center isolation strip and protective seal in one, allowing manufacturers to replace several traditional processes with a single product...making the production process simpler.
